The Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHAssociation) marked the 2025 World Day for Safety and Health at Work with a Global Summit on April 27, 2025. This event brought together members and stakeholders worldwide to reaffirm their commitment to promoting safe and healthy working environments.
The 2025 theme, “Revolutionizing Health and Safety: The Role of AI and Digitalization at Work,” highlighted the transformative impact of emerging technologies on occupational safety and health (OSH).
Discussions emphasised how tools like artificial intelligence, wearable tech, and virtual reality are enhancing hazard detection, training, and overall safety. However, the summit also addressed potential challenges, including algorithmic errors and concerns over worker surveillance.
In alignment with global efforts, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHAssociation) programme is to foster workplace cooperation and integrate digital tools to improve safety standards.
OSHAssociation’s Global Summit served as a platform for sharing best practices and innovations in OSH, reinforcing the importance of adapting to technological advancements while safeguarding worker well-being.
Members of the Association are encouraged to continue these dialogues and implement insights gained to enhance safety protocols within their organisations.
