The Health Information Specialist will play an important role in managing patient health records and ensuring compliance with privacy standards such as HIPAA. The position involves receiving and processing patient requests, maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive data, and ensuring accurate assembly and storage of medical records in both paper and electronic systems. The specialist will prepare new patient charts, digitise documents, respond to internal and external record requests, and perform related administrative duties such as fax handling, data entry, and answering calls.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining confidentiality and security of all patient data

• Ensuring records are accurate, complete, and properly filed

• Managing inbound and outbound communications related to patient requests

• Supporting facility staff and management in daily operations

• Meeting productivity and accuracy targets set by the company

• Applying consistent medical privacy regulations across all tasks

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED (must be at least 18 years old)

• Strong computer and communication skills

• Ability to use phones, fax machines, printers, and office software

• Reliable transportation to commute between sites if needed

• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods

Preferred:

• Previous experience in a healthcare or medical records environment

• Background in customer service or production-based work

• Strong relationship-building skills and proactive communication

Compensation: $15 – $18.32 per hour (rate may vary by location and experience).
