A high-level delegation from Guinea has successfully concluded a professional training programme in London focused on ISO 45001 certification, marking a significant step in strengthening occupational safety and health standards across sectors in the West African nation.
The delegation, led by Dr. Diallo Abdoulaye, comprised selected representatives from both government institutions and the private sector.
Their participation in the intensive training aimed to enhance their expertise in occupational safety and health management systems, with a particular emphasis on aligning practices with internationally recognized ISO 45001 standards.
The training, held in London, provided participants with practical knowledge and strategic insights into implementing effective workplace health and safety frameworks. It also created a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration with global professionals in the field.
At the conclusion of the programme, members of the delegation were awarded Fellow Membership of the Occupational Safety and Health Association UK in recognition of their successful completion of the course. This achievement not only acknowledges their commitment to advancing workplace safety but also positions them as key advocates for improved occupational health standards in Guinea.
The visit further strengthened institutional ties between Guinea and the Occupational Safety and Health Association UK, paving the way for future collaboration, capacity-building initiatives, and the adoption of best practices in occupational health and safety management.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Brian Greenaway, one of the Executive Directors of the Occupational Safety and Health Association, appreciated the effort of the team for coming to the United Kingdom in search of knowledge in occupational safety and health, he further promised them continuous partnership and support in driving safety to all French speaking countries in Africa.
Dr. Diallo Abdoulaye, the Chief Managing Director of HSEC Training & Services Guinea and the Leader of the Delegation thanked OSHAssociation UK team for their cooperation throughout the trip and also highlighted the importance of continuous professional development and international partnerships in addressing workplace safety challenges. He expressed confidence that the knowledge gained would be effectively applied to improve safety standards and protect workers across various industries in Guinea.
The delegation’s successful engagement underscores a growing commitment by Guinea to prioritize occupational safety and health as a critical component of national development and workforce sustainability.
