Occupational Safety and Health Association United Kingdom (OSHAssociation) in cooperation with over ten countries held an annual international safety conference to mark the United Nations International day for Universal Access to Information, it was held through the Zoom Virtual Platform recently with close to three hundred (300) delegates present in the conference.
Theme: “Providing OSH Information for Workplace Safety amidst COVID 19″.
The Conference kicked off on a good note with the Executive Director of OSHAssociation UK, Mr. David Neil Smith, presenting his opening remark, he encouraged delegates to be focused on effective safety information that would prevent fatalities at workplaces and save lives.
However, notable and renowned HSSE Speakers from Europe, United States of America, Africa, Middle East and Asia gave out of their wells of knowledge in extreme measures, such as John Flynn from United Kingdom, Bernard .L. Fontaine from the USA who spoke on the COVID 19: The Way Forward For Workplace Safety.
Other notable speakers were Engr. Emmanuel Uwalaka from Nigeria, Els Willems from Belgium, Mr. Godson Azu from United Kingdom, Engr. Olusegun Stephen from United Kingdom, Mr. Richmond Quartey from Ghana, Mr. Leon Lee from Benin Republic, Dr. Pierre Ngalagou from Cameroon, Mr. Rockson Ali from Saudi Arabia, among others.
In line with the agenda of the Conference, new International members were inducted. The Induction was led by Els Willems who made them take an oath of allegiance to uphold the promotion of safety and health in their organisations and countries at large.
The new members who registered for different membership categories ranging from Fellow Members, Associate Members, Graduate Members, Student Members and Corporate Members were fully inducted, and they promised to represent the safety profession under the platform of OSHAssociation wherever they find themselves.
OSHAssociation, as one of the leading international professional bodies focusing on Health, Safety, Security and Environmental best practices, encourages professionals to be good advocates in sharing life-saving safety information that would improve safety culture in various communities.
Delegates expressed great appreciation to all the speakers and the Leadership of the Association for such a life transforming conference.
